Donation FAQs

To help you determine if you or your organization is eligible for a donation, we have provided the following set of frequently asked questions:

Q: I’m on a committee which is raising funds to build a playground at my son's elementary school. Would this be eligible for your support?

A: Yes.

Q: I’m participating in a local run that supports the Canadian Cancer Society. Would this be eligible for your support?

A: No, ultimately the funds raised for this event supports a National Charity, not a local charity, so you wouldn't be eligible. But, if one of our staff is participating in the event he/she can apply for support under our Staff Community Support program.

Q: I’m on a committee that is raising funds to purchase more computers for our school. Is this eligible for your support?

A: No, your cause does not protect the environment or encourage physical activity.

Q: What level of donation is reasonable to request?

A: We've set up the application form so that you tell us what you want the donation for. It is our general practice to provide: a certificate for two activity passes for draws and raffles; and, a certificate for four activity passes for silent auction items.
